Christmas in Santa Monica
Do you want to help the homeless in Santa Monica over Christmas?
The Santa Monica Christmas effort is a non-profit program to send volunteers from their home city to areas in need. Volunteers are uncompensated and give of their time over the holiday season to make the holidays brighter for those in need.
Richard Bloom, a City Council Member, wrote me saying, "Los Angeles County has unfortunate distinction of having the highest number of homeless individuals in the country: about 75,000 or over 10% of the nation's total homeless population. It has been a priority issue for me for many years now." Santa Monica Christmas has made it our priority too.
Through volunteering with such agencies as the Ocean Park Community Center and partnering with outreaches with United Steps, volunteers make a difference over the holiday season. Read more here!
